Call it a rug, call it a mat, Anji Mountain Bamboo Rug Company calls it Mandalay Sisal, and it offers a clean, smooth texture that performs well in high-traffic areas. Our special interest was in having something strong and durable to place on the floor of our Disaster Relief Shelter, though your interest might include almost anywhere else inside your house where there is a high traffic area in need of a good looking, natural fiber 5’ x 8’ floor covering.

Mandalay Sisal is a durable natural fiber derived from the agave sisalana cactus plant commonly harvested in Brazil and Africa. The 5’ x 8’ size can easily cover the central portion of the Relief Shelter; two of them will cover almost the whole floor, will withstand the weight of occupied cots and protect the polyethylene floor of the shelter.
